Brother Knights and friends,

Welcome to autumn!

Hard to believe that another year is soon coming to an end.
Many thanks, to those who came out and work at our 15th Annual Art in the Park and the ID Drive this past September. Needless to say we had a great turnout and despite the weather our vendors reported wonderful sales. ID drive went well at all parishes along with shaking the cans on the corners. Although the final numbers are not in yet, I am confident we will meet all our goals.
Honors Night is fast approaching and we, of course, would like to see the best turnout ever! Please R.S.V.P. - A.S.A.P. Remember, these are our brother Knights that have reached a milestone in their time in our Order & deserve to be acknowledged! Additionally we will be honoring those couples that have achieved 50 years of marital bliss; not an easy task these days. God Bless one and all!
Our Memorial Mass will be on Sunday November 20th. Father Scott, of St. Roberts Parish and Mercy Home for boys and girls, will be our presiding celebrant at this year’s service. Details will follow soon on our website.
Speaking of our new website, I hope we are all enjoying the new medium of information. I have been very surprised as to the number of people, both Knights and otherwise, that have commented on the content. I am confident we can make it even better in the future! Remember…this is your website!! Your input is vital to keeping it fresh and successful. Please keep suggestions, ideas, events, and comments coming!
NOTICE… It is that time of year again…Letters of “intent to suspend” will be going out shortly. Please pay your dues promptly. Taking care of each other was the prime reason Fr. McGivney organized the Knights to begin with. Bother Knights, If there is some financial difficulty that needs to be addressed, please contact me immediately so that I may intercede on your behalf. Confidentiality is always adhered to in these matters.
See you at the next meeting or event!

Worthy Brother Knights and Friends,

Hope everybody had a nice Halloween and is looking forward to a great Thanksgiving!
A good time was had by all at the honors night dinner. A big thanks to all those who helped put the evening together and all who helped set up and/or clean up. It was good to see and meet some brother knights and their families, who are celebrating either a great milestone in our order, or 50 years of marriage. Congratulations to all!
November brings our memorial mass for those brother Knights who are no longer with us. It's sad that they are gone and necessary that we honor them with our thoughts and prayers. This year's event will take place on November 20, 11 AM at St. Mary of Providence. Please contact our chancellor Jerome Lasky to RSVP.
The plans for this year's Christmas party are in the works and more information will follow shortly. Please refer back to this website often for any updates.
Plans are also in the works for an upcoming major degree to be sponsored by Tonti council at Sokol Center, again more information to follow on this website.
Hope to see you soon and God Bless,
Vivat Jesus,

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and that you didn’t eat too much Turkey!

Thanks to all our Brothers and families who came out in support of our Memorial Mass. I thought the turnout was good considering that most of our fallen Brother’s families were from out of town. A special thanks to Fr. Scott Donahue, of Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, for celebrating the Mass with us. Another special thanks to Matthew Heinrich, our seminarian, for acting as acolyte. It is unfortunate that we need a Memorial Mass at all however it is necessary that we honor our fallen Brothers and their families for their years of service.
A big thank you to Fr. Fedek and Past Grand Knight Bill Sedlacek for hosting and organizing the “Father Wants You” membership drive at Our Lady of Victory Church. The results are still coming in, but we did have one new member sign-up on the spot that evening. We also have several other gentlemen that will sign up in the very near future. We had a total of eleven potential members that came, some with their wives, to hear a presentation, which I may say went very very well. A Special thanks to our Past Grand Knight and Field Agent Tony Mangiaracina and Our District Deputy, Bob McLaughlin for their special parts that evening. We will have to, in the future; have similar drives at all of our other Parishes.
Our Christmas party is quickly approaching. As you know it will be held on December 15, 2011 at 7 PM at Porretta's Restaurant on Central Avenue. If you have not yet R.S.V.P. please do so ASAP [please see and click on The Christmas Party Banner on the main page of this website or call 773-318-3608]
I would like to wish our Brother Knights and their families a very Merry and blessed Christmas. And please remember:
Jesus Is the Reason for the Season!
Additionally, I would also like to wish everybody a very Happy New Year. As the festivities begin, please be safe in your travels while visiting family and friends.
As a new year begins, our annual Free-Throw Contest will soon be upon us. If you're interested in helping out, please contact Sir Knight Jeff Griggs. Look to our website for further details as they are available.
Once again for all our brothers that will not be attending our Christmas party I would like to extend a very Merry Christmas, and a Very Happy and prosperous New Year!
Vivat Jesus,
G.K. Kurt Sedlacek
